Armistice
In the thinning light of November,
I recall
those who fought for a better world,
where peace, equity, and tolerance stand as humanity’s pillars.
With the full moon rising with colder days,
I look for
the warming presence of humanity,
burning within fierce and kind souls around me.
I honor all who have, and still will, fight
with their hearts and actions for the oppressed,
victims of obscurantism and egos trapped in childhood wounds.
I honor life, in all its forms, buried in the soil or rising to the sky,
during the coming winter that keeps memories and stories, safe as they perdure
told in front of the firelight of our history,
_ legacies that should not be forgotten
.
